Yi-Tang Lin: Team Lead

Team lead / PRIMA Professor

Yi-Tang Lin is a historian of science, technology, and medicine. Her research seeks to answer two fundamental questions: how did international organizations transfer different scientific knowledge and related policies to other regions? And how did local scientists and knowledge factor into their relations with international organizations and the world?

She has published extensively on the interaction between China and foreign organizations, particularly in the fields of public health and biology. This includes her first book, Statistics and the Language of Global Health: Institutions and Experts in China, Taiwan, and the World , 1917-60 (Cambridge UP, 2022).

Her current research traces the technical assistance provided by China, Japan, and Taiwan in rice farming across West Africa during the Cold War.
