Petra Gerber: Science IT Consultant

I support this project as a Science IT Consultant, but my story started as molecular biologist, still working in the lab doing experiments. With my interest in computational aspects of research, I switched to Systems Biology PhD at ETH Zurich, followed by a Computational Biology PostDoc at Roche and further on, joining Science IT since the beginning of 2023 year, in pursue of helping (consulting) other researchers.

My main focus is on different IT aspects of the team’s work, from developing data management strategy and policies, to closely supporting projects, analyzing data and/or developing new applications/databases to showcase their work. In that role, I have joined this project to support them in establishing a markup procedure for identifying key aspects of research in rice cultivation, which will be further expanded with creation of repository of such data. I am looking forward to supporting and getting immersed in a different research field as history of research.
